The Blinn College esports team earned two victories in the Collegiate Valorant National Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
The Buccaneers won both best-of-three matches in 2-0 fashion, defeating Toronto Metro University and Florida International University.
Blinn advanced to the Top 8 and will continue its tournament run against Fisher College on Saturday, May 13.
Competing for the Bucs were Hayden Whitaker, Austin Ray, Adam Lammoumi, Teague Morgan, and Bruce Nguyen.
"These wins secured us as one of the Top 8 teams in the nation for Valorant, and we are super excited to continue on the journey we have been on this year as a team," Blinn head coach Aaron Kapiko said. "It was huge for us to bounce back after a tough weekend in the Collegiate Esports Commissioners Cup. We will play Fisher college for our first-round Top 8 match next weekend."
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 43 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
