Blinn drops Rocket League tilt to Carl Albert State

Blinn College esports suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Carl Albert State College in NJCAA Esports Rocket League play on Monday.

The Buccaneer Rocket League team finished its regular season 5-2 overall.

"We were able to hold our own for a bit as we attempted to play a more defensive style, where we essentially parked the bus," Blinn assistant coach Kyle Murto said. "It worked for the first match and a half before Cal Albert was finally able to really open our defense up."

Competing for the Bucs were Andrew Askins, Vince Purcell, and Braden Nardecchia.

"There is still a small chance we make the playoffs, but we will have to wait and see. Regardless, my players have made huge strides and have been able to improve as individuals and as a team. So even if this is the end of our season, I am happy with the results."

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
