"We came into this match well-prepared, and it showed," Blinn assistant coach Kyle Murto said. "We dominated in all of the matchups aside from the one we dropped due to a couple of mistakes. We were able to bounce back from that loss and finish out the series with a win."

The Buccaneers will now compete for the conference championship and will face the winner of West Virginia University and the University of Central Missouri on Monday, Nov. 28.

In Blinn's second postseason match Monday, the Buccaneer Super Smash Bros squad fell to Texas Wesleyan University 2-0 in the semifinal round of the NACE Varsity Plus West-Central Conference.

Competing for the Bucs were sophomores Brett Fahrenholz and Christian Ekpenike, and freshmen Clay Herd and Jacob Starr.

Next up for Blinn will be the NACE Varsity Premier Overwatch Tournament. The 11th-seeded Buccaneers take on No. 6-seed Kennesaw State in the first round at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
