Blinn Overwatch sweeps two matches for undefeated finish in NACE play

The Blinn College esports team was victorious in a pair of National Association of Collegiate Esports Overwatch (NACE) matches Wednesday.

The Buccaneers earned 3-0 victories in best-of-five tilts against Stony Brook University and Kansas State University.

Blinn is now 7-0 in the NACE East 1 Conference and has yet to lose a single map this spring. The Bucs will enter the playoffs as the top seed from the East 1 Conference.

"This is a big moment for our team and was definitely a goal for us, but we have a long way to go," Blinn assistant coach Kyle Murto said. "There are still a lot of solid teams we have to face off against in the playoffs. We are going to continue to practice and bust our butts every single day as we look to make a name for ourselves this semester and take down some tough schools."

Blinn Overwatch returns to action with an NJCAA Esports bout against Arkansas State University at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 10.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
