Athletic Academic Services

Blinn College continues to boast one of the nations’ most successful athletic programs.

This success on the field and court begins with a high quality learning environment, with the college and entire athletic department fully committed to providing the most efficient and effective support for all student-athletes to help them achieve a first class education.

The Bucs’ athletic academic advisor provides academic, educational and personal development support for more than 250 Blinn student-athletes, trainers and managers.

Blinn’s academic services include:

•             Individualized advising with student-athletes

•             Supervised structured study

•             Tutorial assistance

•             Academic performance monitoring

•             Early registration

Compliance/Eligibility

In addition to the above duties, an advisor compiles and submits eligibility for the NJCAA and works with compliance officers from NCAA schools in helping student-athletes transfer to the next level.

Facilities

Located in the Academic Building on the Brenham campus, both the Buccaneer Athletic Learning Center and Writing Center are open year-round for the convenience of the student-athletes.

Each center is equipped with state-of-the-art computers and academic resources to assist our student-athletes in their studies.

On average, student-athletes are required to spend 4-5 hours in the academic facilities each week, with tutors on hand at all times to help with any subject.
