Blinn blanks University of Guam in Super Smash Bros match

 

The Blinn College esports team earned a 2-0 victory over the University of Guam in a best-of-three Super Smash Bros match Wednesday.

Competing for Blinn were sophomore Brett Fahrenholz, along with freshmen Jacob Starr, Dawson Beatty and Clay Herd.

The victory keeps the Buccaneers (3-1) tied for first place (with Boise State University and University of Guam) in West-Central Conference play through the National Association of Collegiate Esports. 

Blinn will take on the University of North Texas-Dallas in a Super Smash Bros match at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20. The Buccaneers will have a pair of Overwatch matches later this week, starting with a tilt against St. Ambrose College at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, and a 4 p.m. clash against Monroe College on Friday, Oct. 14.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
