Blinn Valorant earns two wins in Collegiate Valorant Winter Split tournament

The Blinn College esports team earned a pair of victories in the Collegiate Valorant Winter Split tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

The Buccaneers, ranked second in the nation by the Collegiate Valorant Hub in conjunction with National Esports Collegiate Conference, defeated Florida Polytechnic University 2-0 in the round of 32 before topping the University of Texas-Austin 2-0 in the round of 16. With the pair of wins, Blinn moves on to face Oklahoma Christian University in the round of eight this week at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18.

"We were dominant throughout each of our games this weekend," Blinn head coach Aaron Kapiko said.

Competing for the Bucs were Austin Ray, Adam Laamoumi, Teague Morgan, Bruce Nguyen, and Hayden Whitaker.
