Blinn men’s soccer to host Angelina in Region XIV quarterfinals

The Blinn College men's soccer team will host Angelina College in the Region XIV quarterfinals on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. at Hohlt Park's Rankin Field.

"The men's team has taken the program to a different level and set the bar even higher, so I am really pleased with what they have done," said Michael McBride, Blinn head coach. "It is awesome to have home-field advantage in the Region XIV tournament."

The address for Hohlt Park is 2425 N. Park Street. Admission is $5 for adults and students with a Blinn ID get in free.

The Buccaneers enter the NJCAA Region XIV Men's Soccer Championship Tournament as the No. 3 seed after finishing the regular season with a program-best 10-6-1 record and 9-4-1 conference record. Angelina enters as the No. 6 seed with a 6-8 conference record. The Buccaneers and Roadrunners have met twice in the regular season and each team has a notched a win.

"It is very exciting that we are moving on to the playoffs and is very special that we will get to play at home in front of our fans," said Farit Ha, sophomore midfielder. We want to get a win for them and go far into the tournament."

If the Buccaneers win, they will advance to play No. 2-seeded Northeast Texas Community College.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 41 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
