No. 18 Blinn men’s soccer downs Jacksonville, 3-1

BRENHAM, Texas — Farit Ha scored two goals in the second half to help lead the No. 18 Blinn College men's soccer team (8-3, 7-2) to a 3-1 win over Jacksonville College on Sunday afternoon.

"We knew it was going to be a difficult game because the team put so much into Friday's game, but they found a way to get the win so we are happy," said Michael McBride, Blinn head coach.

Josh Stone and Ha led Blinn's offense, each recording four shots on goal and combining for all three goals. Ethan Unger was next with two shots on goal and two assists, and Brook Williams recorded an assist in the win.

JT McCoy was strong on defense, recording 11 saves in 90 minutes.

Blinn was the first on the board in the 10th minute when Unger passed the ball off to Stone to score. However, Jacksonville evened the score 1-1 in the 43rd minute for the game to remain tied at the half.

Blinn took back a 2-1 lead when Williams assisted Ha in scoring in the 46th minute. The Buccaneers extended their lead to 3-1 in the 61st minute when Ha scored on a pass from Unger.

Next, Blinn will compete against Northeast Texas Community College on the road on Friday, Oct. 11, at 4 p.m.
