Stefan Sildor delivers in overtime for Bucs to defeat Mountain View, 1-0

BRENHAM, Texas — Stefan Fevrier Sildor scored a golden goal for the Blinn College men's soccer team (3-2, 2-1) to defeat Mountain View College, 1-0.

"We found a way to win the game, so I am really pleased," said Michael McBride, Blinn head coach. "Stefan had shots all night and eventually one went in."

On offense, Sildor and Farit Ha each recorded three shots on goal. On defense, JT McCoy came up with the shutout with six saves.

"This is a special win because it was on our home field and it was a hard fought game," Sildor said. "We had a lot of chances in regular time, but it was nice to get the win in overtime."

Josh Stone assisted Sildor in scoring Blinn's game-winning goal in the 99th minute.

Next, the Buccaneers will face Northeast Texas Community College on Friday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. at Rankin Field. The women's team will begin the doubleheader at 5 p.m.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 41 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
