Norsworthy‘s goal enough for Blinn to defeat Paris, 1-0

PARIS, Texas — Derek Norsworthy's goal and JT McCoy's four saves were the winning factors in the Blinn College men's soccer team's (9-4, 8-3) 1-0 win over Paris Junior College on Sunday afternoon on the road.

"It was a closely fought game and we are pleased that we escaped with the win," said Michael McBride, Blinn head coach.

Norsworthy scored for Blinn in the 11th minute and the Buccaneers were able to hold onto the 1-0 lead for the remainder of the game.

McCoy recorded Blinn's third shutout this season. On offense, Stefan Fevrier Sildor led the Buccaneers with three shots, while Ethan Unger recorded two.

Next, Blinn will compete against Coastal Bend College on the road on Friday, Oct. 18, at 3 p.m.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 41 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
