Buccaneers capture 14th consecutive victory

WHARTON, Texas – The second-ranked Blinn College volleyball team defeated Wharton County Junior College 25-21, 25-15, 25-13 here Tuesday night for their 14th consecutive victory.

With the win, the Buccaneers improved to 29-1 on the season and 7-0 in the Region XIV Conference South Zone.

Rebecca Reeve led the Buccaneers with 19 kills while Abolanle Onipede posted 10 and Haley Howard added seven. The Buccaneers hit .356 as a team, including a .533 from Reeve and a .600 from Howard.

Jordyn Keamo dished out 37 assists while Alyssa LaMont paced the defense with 14 digs, followed by 13 from Reeves. Onipede posted a team-high six digs.

The Buccaneers return to action Friday when they host Laredo Community College at 6 p.m. at the Blinn P.E. Building.
