BLINN COLLEGE BAND

THE BUCCANEER BAND EXPERIENCE!

The Blinn College Buccaneer Band offers students an excellent opportunity to use their musical talents and, at the same time, enjoy the rewarding experience of being in a group of people with like interests. Music majors and non music majors alike participate in the marching band, the concert band, and the jazz band. Of the 125 Blinn band members, about 15 percent are actual music majors. Fifty high schools ranging from Class 1A to Class 5A are represented in the Buccaneer band.

AUDITIONS

Auditions for musicians and the flag corps are held in the spring. Instrumentalists should prepare selections demonstrating musical ability such as region tryout material or UIL solo repertoire. Flags should prepare a representative routine demonstrating a variety of flag choreography. Auditions for the upcoming school year may be made by appointment and audition information/forms can be viewed/printed by clicking here. To schedule an audition and/or receive additional information, contact Jill Stewart (979) 830-4262 or Sarah Burke (979) 830-4015.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Substantial scholarships are still available to qualified musicians, especially tuba, trumpet and horn, through auditions and upon recommendation of the applicant's high school band director. Scholarships are equally available to non music major and music majors. To schedule an audition and/or receive additional information, contact Jill Stewart, instrumental music coordinator (979) 830-4262.
