Buccaneers sweep Coastal Bend to improve to 2-0 in conference play

BEEVILLE, Texas – The top-ranked Blinn College volleyball team improved to 2-0 in the Region XIV Conference South Zone with a 25-6, 25-12, 25-16 victory over Coastal Bend College.

The Buccaneers used their entire roster in the victory as Abolanle Onipede posted a team-high seven kills and four blocks. Trinity Alualu added five kills and Rebecca Proske led the defense with four digs. Jordyn Keamo paced the offense with 16 assists.

"We worked on making sure we played a low-error game," coach Erin Mellinger said. "It was a good team effort."

With the victory, the Buccaneers improved to 17-1 overall. They host Temple College at 6 p.m. Friday in the Blinn P.E. Building.
