Reeve, Alualu lead second-ranked Buccaneers past Laredo

The Buccaneers defeated Laredo Community College 25-23, 25-23, 25-20 behind a combined 24 kills from the two sophomores. With the win, their 15th straight, the Bucs improved to 30-1 on the season and 8-0 in the Region XIV Conference South Zone.

"We made too many errors, but Laredo played pretty well," Blinn coach Erin Mellinger said.

Reeve led the Buccaneers with 13 kills and 10 digs while hitting .310 on the night, while Alualu hit .391 to finish with 11 kills and seven digs.

"Our middles have been very good for us all year," Mellinger said. "Bec has been playing really well for us – she and Trinity have been our two most consistent hitters."

Freshman setter Jordyn Keamo dished out 33 assists and added seven digs, while Rachel Sharp led the defense with nine digs and Alyssa LaMont added eight. Abolanle Onipede posted three blocks on the night.

The Buccaneers celebrate Homecoming weekend with a 1 p.m. match vs. Coastal Bend College Saturday in the Blinn P.E. Building.
