Balanced attack leads Buccaneers past Temple, 3-1

TEMPLE, Texas – The fourth-ranked Blinn College volleyball team defeated Temple College 25-19, 25-16, 25-27, 25-14 in non-conference action here Friday night.

The victory marked Blinn's third consecutive win and improved the Buccaneers to 18-1 on the season.

Tawnee Luafalemana and Rebecca Reeve shared the Buccaneers' team lead with 13 kills apiece, as Luafalemana finished with a .440 hitting percentage and four blocks.

Trinity Alualu filled up the stat sheet with seven kills, a .400 hitting percentage, nine digs and three blocks, and Rachel Sharp had an equally diverse impact, finishing with seven kills, 11 digs and four blocks. Abolanle Onipede added seven kills.

Jordyn Keamo had a team-high 29 assists and also finished with 11 digs, while Justus Tuiolosega added 16 assists. Alyssa LaMont led the Buccaneer defense with 16 digs.

The Bucs return to action Tuesday when they host Wharton County Junior College for a 6 p.m. Region XIV Conference match at the Blinn P.E. Building.
