Sophomore defender Kajol Prasad (Murphy) and freshman midfielder Caitlynn West (Houston) signed letters of intent with four-year universities to continue their academic and playing careers.

Prasad signed with Nicholls State University, while West signed with Belhaven University.

"I couldn't be happier for these two players and they have obviously given so much to our program to help us progress," said Michael McBride, Blinn head coach. "You have to be very committed to the game to play at this level and then to move on to a four-year program is an even bigger accomplishment. It is wonderful to see them take that next step and represent Blinn at the next level."

Prasad earned all-region honorable mention honors after playing strong defense in 16 starts for the Buccaneers. She recorded one assist, shots on goal and a .714 shot on goal percentage. In two seasons at Blinn, she totaled 32 starts. She is the first player in the Blinn women's soccer program's two-year history to sign with a Division I program.

"I am super excited to live my dream of playing Division I soccer because I have been working 17 years for this and the hard work has finally paid off," Prasad said. "This wouldn't have been possible without the help of Coach McBride and Coach Alexandria Jackson because they really put in a lot to get me to where I am right now, so I want to give them a lot of credit. I will always be thankful for the bonds I created with my teammates and the memories that I made at Blinn."

West played for the Buccaneers in seven games and made two starts as a freshman. She recorded one assist in Blinn's 3-0 win over Cisco College.

"I am really excited and know that this will be a good experience for me,"
West said. "Blinn was a very good step before I went off to a bigger university and playing at the collegiate level here meant a lot to me. I am so happy for the teammates and friends that I met here and I am never going to forget them."

Blinn finished the season with a 6-9-1 overall record and 4-7-1 conference record.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 41 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
