No. 24 Blinn stumps Jacksonville, 76-53

JACKSONVILLE, Texas — The No. 24 Blinn College women's basketball team (22-6, 11-5) stumped Jacksonville College, 76-53, on Saturday afternoon.

"It was a very good defensive effort in a very tough environment," said Jeff Jenkins, Blinn head coach. "Kristine Ezimako has put a string of games together that have been impressive. She has been focused and locked in, and is turning out to be a very good player."

Ezimako led Blinn's offense with 21 points, while Hailey Atwood followed with 17. Gabriela Bosquez pitched in 14 points and Keaundra Eddings scored 11.

The Buccaneers grabbed a 22-11 lead in the first quarter and led 35-17 during halftime. Blinn continued to lead 48-33 in the third quarter and added 28 points in the final quarter for the win.

Next, Blinn will host Angelina College for the final home game of the season on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 5:30 p.m. at the Kruse Center. The game will feature Sophomore Night. The Blinn men's basketball team will conclude the doubleheader against Angelina at 7:30 p.m.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 41 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
