Blinn women’s basketball breezes past San Antonio, 108-32

BEEVILLE, Texas — The Blinn College women's basketball team (7-1) finished the Coastal Bend Classic with a 108-32 victory over San Antonio College on Saturday afternoon. 

The Buccaneers concluded the tournament with a 2-1 record. 

"We were able to play all 15 players and I thought everybody played with good intensity and focus," said Jeff Jenkins, Blinn head coach.

Ah'Jaya Johnson led Blinn's offense with 16 points, Gabriela Bosquez followed with 14, Hailey Atwood scored 12, and Tanea Sims recorded 10. 

The Buccaneers built a 33-6 lead in the first quarter and held a 63-17 advantage at the half.

Blinn went on a 9-0 run coming out of the half to lead 72-17 at the 7:20 mark and stayed ahead 85-28 moving into the final quarter. The Buccaneers tallied 23 points and held San Antonio to four points in the last period for the 108-32 win.

Next, the Buccaneers will return home to take on Temple College on Wednesday, November 20, at 5:30 p.m. in the Kruse Center. 

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 41 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
