Blinn women’s basketball defeats Palo Alto, 84-22

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The Blinn College women's basketball team (4-0) picked up its fourth straight road win as the Buccaneers defeated Palo Alto College, 84-22, on Saturday afternoon.

"It was a good game to give 15 players equal minutes and I was happy that they all scored," said Jeff Jenkins, Blinn head coach.

Mariel Wade was the leading scorer with 13 points, Mia Cherry was next with 11, and Keaundra Eddings tallied eight.

Blinn leaped out to a 34-8 lead in the first quarter and stayed ahead 45-10 at the break. The Buccaneers outscored Palo Alto 11-4 to lead 56-14 entering the final quarter. Blinn added another 28 points in the fourth to earn the 84-22 win.

Next, the Buccaneers will compete against McLennan Community College in Blinn's home opener on Tuesday, November 12, at 5:30 p.m. in the Kruse Center. The Blinn men's basketball game against McLennan will follow at 7:30 p.m.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 41 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
