Terrell Guy dropped an explosive dunk that ignited the crowd late in the second half in the Blinn P.E. Building Monday night.

The Blinn men's basketball team provided the rest of the fireworks as the Buccaneers exploded to a 110-66 victory over Lone Star College – Tomball.

The win snapped a two-game skid for the Bucs.

"Any time you can get a win after you've lost two in a row is a good thing," Blinn (8-2) coach Scott Schumacher said. "We had a nice break … and to go out there and play again was good for the guys."

Between Guy's dunk and Jourdan Stickler's hot touch from 3-point land, the Bucs stormed out to a lead midway through the first half and never gave Lone Star a chance for a comeback.

Stickler hit four 3-pointers, three in the first half, on his way to a team-high 17-point night. Macari Brooks scored 14 points and Guy added another 11, none louder than his dunk with 1:57 to play that gave Blinn a 105-62 lead.

Altogether, Blinn had a much better performance from behind the 3-point arch than it did against Paris in its Region XIV Conference opener less than a week ago. That night, the Bucs shot 1 of 15 from behind the arc. Monday night, the Bucs made 10 3-pointers.

"We're a good 3-point shooting team," Schumacher said. "We got some open looks that we were able to knock down."

Freshman Trae Barber scored all nine of his points on 3-pointers.

The Bucs were able to pull away midway through the first half with an offense that's averaging 105 points per game, but it was the team's rebounding, too, that gave the offense plenty of second-chance opportunities to build that lead.

 "Our guys play hard, they go get rebounds, they're athletic," Schumacher said.

Monday night, the players showed how explosive they can be, too.
