Four Blinn women’s soccer players pick up Region XIV Conference accolades

Four Blinn College women's soccer players claimed Region XIV accolades in the program's inaugural season after leading the Buccaneers.

Freshman midfielder Katherine Rabold (The Woodlands), freshman forward Natasha Thiele (Giddings), freshman defender Alyssa Correa (Cypress) and sophomore forward Hailey Burke (League City) earned all-region honorable mention.

"I am proud of these athletes for coming into a first-year program, working hard and earning these honors," said Jorden Smith, Blinn head coach. "They competed throughout the season, were involved in the community, and worked hard in the classroom, so it is fantastic to see them recognized like this in the soccer world."

Rabold earned Region XIV honorable mention honors after starting 15 games and leading the Buccaneers with nine points and four goals, while recording one assist. Thiele ranked second on the team with eight points, and recorded three goals and two assists in 15 games, while Correa started in 16 games for the Buccaneers, recording one goal and two assists.

Burke was the only sophomore to earn the honors after starting 16 games and ranking third on the team with seven points. She also scored two goals and recorded three assists. She is committed to Louisiana State University Shreveport.

Blinn finished the season with a 4-12-1 record and 3-8-1 conference record.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 41 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
