Marco A. Gonzalez Salazar enters his first season as Blinn's assistant women's soccer coach.

Previously, Gonzalez Salazar served as a volunteer assistant for both the Blinn men's and women's soccer program's for three seasons.

He also serves as the Residence Hall Director for Lockett Hall on the Brenham Campus.

Prior to Blinn, Gonzalez Salazar coached youth players at the Boys and Girls Club and McAllen Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) in his hometown of Pharr, Texas.

Gonzalez Salazar grew up in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He started playing soccer at the age of four and played goalkeeper his entire life. He played at academies in Mexico and the United States and also played recreational soccer.

Gonzalez Salazar earned his bachelor’s degree in criminology and is currently pursuing his master’s degree at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
