Blinn College has named 108 student athletes to the Fall 2015 Don Wilhelm Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

To be eligible, student athletes must post a 3.0 or better grade point average and pass a minimum of 12 credit hours of college level courses. Out of 300 student athletes, 36 percent made the honor roll.

Twelve student athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average: softball players Katie Andrie, Kalli Edwards, Alyssa Hitt, Ashley Langston and Lauren Silver, volleyball players Gabriela Hernandez, Barbara Krug, Danusia and Sipa Borgeaud, baseball players Cody LeCompte and Blaine Suehs, football player Spencer Horn and cheerleader Nikai Hinojosa.

"Our student athletes understand that they are here for an education first," said athletic director Scott Schumacher. "These outstanding GPAs show their effort towards that goal."

Cheer led with 20 student-athletes on the honor roll. Sixteen of Blinn's 18 softball players were named to the honor roll as the team earned a 3.52 combined GPA, while volleyball came in second with a team GPA of 3.06.

The honor roll is named after former Blinn athletic director Don Wilhelm, an NJCAA Hall of Famer who served the College for 10 years.
