Four Blinn men's basketball players sign with four-year universities

The Blinn College men's basketball team is sending four recent graduates to continue their playing careers at four-year universities.

Lionheart Leslie (Houma, La.) signed with California State University-Fullerton, Jalan McCloud (Fort Worth) signed with Texas Southern University, Vicktor Arnick (Dallas) signed with University of Arkansas at Monticello and Tyler Pate (Port Aransas) signed with Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie.

"This group helped Blinn to have one of most successful seasons in recent history," said Blinn head coach Scott Schumacher. "I am going to miss being around them as people more so than being around them as players."

Blinn ended the 2014-15 season with a 23-9 record and beat Paris Junior College in the first round of the Region XIV Conference Tournament.

A point guard, Leslie averaged 14.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game and shot 51.4 percent behind the 3-point line on 74 attempts. He also was named second-team All-Region XIV Conference South Zone.

McCloud averaged 11.7 points per game and made 27 3-pointers on the season.

Arnick averaged 12.1 points per game and 8.8 rebounds while shooting 48 percent on 75 3-point attempts. Pate played in just 20 games due to a hand injury but averaged 4.2 points and 2.0 assists per game.
