Buccaneers trump Cisco, 83-51

CISCO, Texas- The Blinn College women's basketball team defeated Cisco College, 83-51, to remain undefeated on Thursday night in Cisco.

"It was a good team win where we got to play all 11 of our players and nine of them scored," said Jeff Jenkins, Blinn head coach. "This was our first four hour road trip and they handled it well."

The Buccaneers are undefeated with a 2-0 record after four Buccaneers tallied double digit points.

Aaliyah Holmes led the Buccaneers with 19 points, while Rayanna Carter followed with 14. Missy Archie came up with 11, and Jade Rochelle recorded 10, while Kyler Wyatt finished with nine.

The Buccaneers quickly took a 27-13 lead in the first quarter and held it throughout the game. Heading into the half the Buccaneers held a 20-point lead as they pulled ahead of Cisco, 45-25.

In the second half, the Buccaneers continued to dominate as they built a 67-37 lead in the third quarter before defeating Cisco, 83-51.

The Buccaneers look to remain undefeated in the first home game of the season against McLennan Community College on Monday, Nov. 13 at 5:30 p.m.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 36 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
