Bossier Parish rallies in the final quarter for a 92-87 win over Blinn

BOSSIER CITY, La. – Blinn College women's basketball Alanna Spencer recorded a season-high 25 points for the Buccaneers in Saturday afternoon's conference match-up against Bossier Parish Community College. The Buccaneers posted the second highest amount of points in a game this season, but Bossier Parish managed to come out on top 92-87.

Spencer led the Buccaneers after sinking eight three-pointers, while Kayla Konarik followed with 15 points after shooting five baskets outside the line. Aaliyah Holmes recorded 12 points in the game.

With the loss, the Buccaneers fall to 10-13 overall and 3-10 in Region XIV conference play.

The Buccaneers opened the first quarter with a 23-16 lead and held onto it until the final quarter. At the half, the Buccaneers held a 48-40 lead.  

Blinn kept the momentum in the third quarter and stayed seven points ahead of Bossier Parish heading into the final quarter with a 66-59 lead. In the final quarter, Bossier Parish rallied for 33 points in order to defeat Blinn.

The Buccaneers return home on Wednesday, Feb. 7 to take on conference opponent Panola College at 5:30 p.m. in the Kruse Center. Following the women's game, the men's basketball team will take on Lee College.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 36 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
