Blinn men’s and women’s basketball teams to compete in the Region XIV Tournament as the No. 4 and No. 6 seeds

The Blinn College men's and women's basketball teams will compete in the NJCAA Region XIV Tournament that will take place March 6-10 at John Alexander Gymnasium in Jacksonville, Texas.

The men's basketball team enters the tournament as the No. 4 seed after finishing the regular season with a 19-11 overall record and 9-10 conference record, while the women's basketball team enters the postseason as the No. 6 seed after concluding the regular season with a 15-15 overall record and 8-12 conference record.

The women's basketball team will take the court first as the Buccaneers take on Kilgore College (No. 3 seed) in the quarterfinals tonight at 8 p.m.

The men's basketball team will compete against Angelina College (No. 12 seed) in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 8 at 3 p.m.

The top men's team and women's team from the tournament will advance to the NJCAA DI Men's and Women's Basketball Championships in Hutchinson, Kan. and Lubbock, respectively.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 36 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
