17th-ranked Blinn College softball enters Region XIV Tournament as the No. 1 seed

After an historic season in which it compiled a program-best 23-1 conference record, the Blinn College softball team will compete in the 2019 NJCAA Region XIV Softball Tournament May 13-16 at the Larry Phillips Family Sports Complex in Lufkin, Texas.

The Buccaneers enter the tournament as the No. 1 seed in the South Division and the 17th-ranked team in the nation after finishing the regular season with a 42-13 overall record and claiming the conference championship.  

Blinn will open the tournament against Kilgore College on Monday, May 13, at 7:30 p.m. Kilgore claimed the No. 4 seed in the East Division after posting a 22-24 record and 12-16 conference record.

Admission is $15 per day, and $30 for a tournament pass. The top two teams from the tournament will advance to the 2019 NJCAA Division I Softball Championship in St. George, Utah May 22-25.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 41 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
