Blinn men’s basketball tops Lee, 85-73

BAYTOWN, Texas — Blinn College men's basketball (20-9, 7-9) recorded its 20th win of the season by defeating Lee College, 85-73, on the road Wednesday night.

"I am very excited for our players to get the 20th win of the season because that is always a milestone that basketball coaches try to reach with their programs," said Scott Schumacher, Blinn head coach. "Our players came out tonight extremely focused, which led to a 20-point halftime lead. They stayed focused through the final 20 minutes to get a double-digit win on the road."

Four Buccaneers reached double-digit points in the win. Kai Tease led Blinn with 17, JaQuan Morris was next with 16, Tristan Ikpe scored 14 and AJ Rainey recorded 10. 

The Buccaneers climbed to a 20-point lead in the first half, holding a 47-27 lead at the break. In the second half, Blinn added 38 points for the win. 

Next, Blinn men's basketball will conclude the regular season at home against Coastal Bend College on Saturday, March 2, at 4 p.m. Blinn College women's basketball will kickoff the doubleheader against Paris Junior College at 2 p.m. Both games will feature Sophomore Day.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
