Blinn athletic director and men’s basketball coach to speak at Texas Girls Coaches Association clinic

Blinn College athletic director and men's basketball coach Scott Schumacher will be a featured speaker at the Texas Girls Coaches Association Summer Clinic Wednesday, July 10, at the Arlington Convention Center.

Schumacher, who just finished his 29th season as a junior college basketball coach, will speak regarding practice organization, shooting drills, and the building blocks for man-to-man defense.

"I am thrilled to be speaking about basketball at a statewide convention," Schumacher said. "This is a great opportunity to represent Blinn College in front of an audience from across the State of Texas."

Throughout his head coaching career, Schumacher has spoken at various colleges, clinics, and events, including the Final Four, the Nike Las Vegas Clinic, and the Annual South Padre Island Basketball Clinic.

Schumacher just wrapped up his seventh season at Blinn, posting a 21-10 record, and earning his 560th career win. He previously coached at Paris Junior College, Kilgore College, and North Dakota State College of Science. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 41 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
