Buccaneers fall to Tyler on the road, 74-57

TYLER, Texas — The Blinn College men's basketball team (9-2, 1-2) fell to Tyler Junior College, 74-57, on Wednesday night.

"In the first half, we did a really good job, but I give credit to Tyler for coming out in the second half and playing really good defense," said Scott Schumacher, Blinn head coach. "They made it really difficult for us to score and we weren't able to get any cheap buckets."

JaQuan Morris led Blinn's offense with 16 points, while Kai Tease followed with 13.

Blinn and Tyler played a close first half, but the Buccaneers pulled ahead to lead 38-36 heading into the final half. Tyler's defense came alive in the second half to hold Blinn to 19 points for the win.

With the loss, the Buccaneers fall to 9-2 overall and 1-2 in Region XIV conference play.

Blinn will return home to face Victoria College on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 4 p.m. in the Kruse Center.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
