Buccaneers capture sixth straight win, top Lone Star-Tomball, 100-75

BRENHAM, Texas — Blinn College men's basketball (17-5, 5-5) captured its sixth straight victory, topping Lone Star College-Tomball, 100-75, Tuesday night in the Kruse Center.

"We had another fantastic crowd, and I was pleased that our players came out and took care of business," said Scott Schumacher, Blinn head coach. "We played unselfish basketball and were able to get the win."

All 12 players who suited up scored in the non-conference matchup, led by JaQuan Morris with 23 points. Kai Tease and Tristan Ikpe followed with 14 points apiece, while Matt Adams recorded 12 and Shawn Cornelius scored 11.

The Buccaneers pulled ahead 45-30 in the first half, before reaching triple-digit points for the win.

The Buccaneers resume conference play against Lee College on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 4 p.m. in the Kruse Center. Blinn is currently tied with Jacksonville College and Lamar State College-Port Arthur for first place in Region XIV play. 

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
