Blinn men’s basketball captures fifth straight victory, tops Brookhaven 92-70

PLANO, Texas — The Blinn College men's basketball team captured its fifth straight victory with a 92-70 win over Brookhaven College Saturday. 

With the win, the Buccaneers are undefeated with a 5-0 record.

"We came out and played really well," said Scott Schumacher, Blinn head coach. "We shared the ball on offense and did a good job with our defensive intensity, so it was a great weekend for us." 

JaQuan Morris recorded 23 points to lead Blinn, while Matt Adams followed with 15. Tristan Ikpe and AJ Rainey each recorded 11 points in the win.

The Buccaneers came out strong to hold a 44-30 lead at the half. In the second half, Blinn continued to dominate to build a 29-point lead. The Buccaneers held onto the lead for a 22-point victory. 

Next, the Buccaneers will return home to the Kruse Center on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. to take on North American University. Before the game, the Region XIV South Zone championship Blinn College volleyball team will be recognized.  

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
