Blinn men’s basketball defeats Schreiner, 119-77

BRENHAM, Texas — Blinn College men's basketball (14-5, 3-5) defeated Schreiner University, 119-77, Sunday in the Kruse Center.

"I was proud of our guys since I know they were thinking about one of their teammates that wasn't able to participate today," said Scott Schumacher, Blinn head coach. "I am glad that they came out and played as hard as they did."

Blinn had six players in double digits, led by Kai Tease with 23 points, and followed by JaQuan Morris with 22. AJ Rainey and Matt Adams were next with 14 each, while Uriel Velis and Ryan Pollard scored 10 apiece. 

The Buccaneers built an early 51-35 lead in the first half, before putting up 68 points in the second half to claim the victory.

Blinn will resume conference play against Lamar State College-Port Arthur on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 7 p.m. on the road. 

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
