Six Buccaneer baseball players earn Region XIV honors

Six Blinn College baseball players earned Region XIV Conference honors after the Buccaneers posted a 37-17 record this season.

Left-handed pitcher Kyle Gray (Austin), catcher Brandon Ashy (Cypress), and outfielder Alec Sanchez (Waxahachie) earned all-region and all-conference honors. "To be named all-region and all-conference players says a lot about all of these guys because of the competition that they faced this season," said Harvey McIntyre, Blinn head coach. "I am very proud of them because it takes a lot of talent and persistence to be named the best in this region and conference."

Gray posted a 7-2 record on the mound and led Blinn with 92 strikeouts, while posting a 3.33 earned run average. Ashy hit .326 and led the Buccaneers with 46 runs batted in.
