Blinn men’s soccer enters the Region XIV Tournament as No. 6 seed

The Blinn College men's soccer team is headed to the NJCAA Region XIV Men's Soccer Championship Tournament in its first season of competition.

The Buccaneers will face Laredo Community College in the Region XIV quarterfinals on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 3:30 p.m. at the Laredo College South Complex. Blinn is the No. 6 seed in the tournament after finishing the regular season 6-10 overall with a 5-9 conference record. Laredo holds the No. 3 seed with a 10-4 conference record.

The regional tournament consists of the six top teams from the region, with two of the six teams holding a top-10 NJCAA ranking. The teams that will join the Buccaneers in the tournament are No. 6 Tyler Junior College, No. 5 Northeast Texas Community College, Laredo Community College, Paris Junior College, and Coastal Bend College.

Admission is $1 and all proceeds will go to the Pink To Do Breast Cancer Awareness Association.

The winner between Blinn and Laredo will move on to play No. 1-seeded Tyler.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
