VICTORIA, Texas — Five Buccaneers finished in the top-20 for the No. 18 Blinn College men's golf Blue and White teams to finish fifth and sixth out of nine teams at the University of Houston-Victoria Claude Jacobs Invitational on Monday at Victoria Country Club.

After scoring a two-round team total of 607 on Sunday, the Blinn White team shot a 290 for a final score of 905 for fifth place. The Blinn Blue team placed sixth after shooting a two-round team total of 625 and concluding the tournament with a team round of 290 for a 915 total.

"We had a great opportunity to play at a challenging golf course for our first tournament of the spring," said David Johnson, Blinn head coach. 'The White Team played steady golf throughout the lineup for all three rounds and the Blue Team played good in the first round and struggled badly in the second round, but they bounced back with a 290 in the third round. I know they will work hard to improve on these things and I was proud that both teams bounced back in the final round."

Texas Wesleyan University won the tournament with a three-round team total of 869.

On the Blinn White team, Isaiah Brevick and Riley Simmons concluded the tournament tied for 11th place. Brevick shot a 77, 72, and 75, while Simmons shot an 80, 71, and 73. Eric Breeding tied for 20th with scores of 78, 75, and 75.
