Blinn men’s basketball defeats Victoria on the road, 103-97

VICTORIA, Texas — The Blinn College men's basketball team (19-9, 9-8) defeated Victoria College, 103-97, on Saturday.

"It was a struggle the whole way, but our guys were able to fight enough to come out on top at the end, so I am happy for them," said Scott Schumacher, Blinn head coach. "Anytime you win on the road, especially at the end of the year, it is a good win."

Tristan Ikpe led Blinn's offense with 28 points, while Nic Tata was next with 21. Azariah Seay scored 19 points, Pedro Castro tallied 17, and Markus Vallien chipped in 10.

After falling behind 56-53 at the half, the Buccaneers rallied for 50 points in the second half for the win.

Next, the Blinn men's basketball team will host Angelina College for the final home game of the season on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kruse Center. The game will feature Sophomore Night. The No. 24 Blinn women's basketball team will open the doubleheader against Angelina at 5:30 p.m. for its final home game of the season.
