Blinn College women’s golf concludes Tempest Invitational in third place

GLADEWATER, Texas — Blinn College women's golf took third place at the Tempest Invitational at the Tempest Golf Club.

After posting a team score of 364 in the first round, the Buccaneers concluded the tournament with a round of 349. Blinn's two-round total came to 713.

Madison Davis and Sierra Jameson tied for seventh place after shooting rounds of 88 and 86.

Teammates Cheyenne Sowda finished in 13th place with scores of 94 and 88, and Julia Janczak and Kenzie Prince finished tied for 14th place with scores of 94 and 90, and 95 and 89, respectively.

Tyler Junior College won the tournament title with a team score of 637. LeTourneau University followed with a team score of 707 and Schreiner University finished last with a team score of 719.

Next, the Blinn College men's and women's golf teams will compete in the Tyler Junior College Fall Invitational on Oct. 20-22.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
