Offense goes cold as LSU-Eunice sweeps Buccaneers, 3-1 and 9-1

EUNICE, La. – The offense for Blinn College softball went cold in Louisiana as it scored a single run in each game, falling in the double-header to Louisiana State University-Eunice 3-1 and 9-1 March 28 in Eunice, La.

The non-conference losses drops the Blinn overall record to 27-11 and the conference record stays put at 9-1. Blinn is in unfamiliar territory with a three-game losing streak.

Eunice scored early with a single run in the first but Blinn came right back with a solo home run to lead off the fourth inning by Wilkins. That would be the final run scored by Blinn as Eunice won the game with two runs in the fifth. Blinn stranded five on base in the loss.

Eunice scored consistently in the second game and ended it early in the fifth with a 9-1 victory. Lara Cecchetti had the only extra-base hit for Blinn as the Buccaneers only earned three total hits.
