Blinn softball recognized for academic achievement

The Blinn College softball team has been named a junior college all-academic team for 2013-14 by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Blinn was recognized after posting a 3.29 grade point average for the 2013-14 academic year. This marked the eighth time in the past 12 seasons the team has been named an NFCA all-academic team.

"This recognition speaks to our high expectations on and off the field," coach Rick Church said. "We are just as proud of our academic All-Americans as we are our softball All-Americans."

The Buccaneers went 29-15 last season and qualified for the Region XIV Conference Tournament.
