Blinn defeats Richland to remain undefeated, 91-74

PLANO, Texas — The Blinn College men's basketball team defeated Richland College, 91-74, to remain undefeated Friday night in the Buccaneers first road game of the season. 

With the win, the Buccaneers are 4-0 overall, while the Richland Thunderducks dropped to 3-1. 

"I am happy that our guys fought through adversity and went to another level to last the second half of the game," said Scott Schumacher, Blinn head coach. "I couldn't be happier or more proud of the team for getting our first road win of the year."

JaQuan Morris led Blinn's offense with 28 points, while Uriel Velis  and AJ Rainey followed with 14 points apiece.

The Buccaneers held a 38-33 lead at the half, but the Thunderducks opened the second half strong to pull ahead 64-58. Blinn went on a 33-10 run to finish the game and seal the victory.

Next, the Buccaneers will face Brookhaven College on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. in Plano, Texas. 

 Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
