Blinn sweeps Eastfield, McIntyre claims 400th career win

BRENHAM, Texas — The Blinn College baseball team (4-1) claimed two wins against Eastfield College at Leroy Dreyer Field on Saturday for the sweep.

The Buccaneers' first win, a 3-0 victory, marked Harvey McIntyre's 400th career victory in 13 seasons as Blinn's head coach.

"I am happy to reach 400 career wins and am blessed to be able to coach at a great program," McIntyre said. "I have been able to coach a lot of very fine young men at Blinn who have continued to be a part of my family's lives which means the world to us."

Blinn claimed a 6-1 win in the second game for the sweep. In 23 innings against Eastfield this weekend, the Buccaneers threw 20 scoreless innings. On Friday, Blinn defeated the Harvesters, 5-3.

"Anytime you can win three in a weekend, it is a positive and a step forward for your club," McIntyre said. "I couldn't be more proud and impressed with how we pitched this weekend from the first inning to the last. We've got to start clicking offensively in order for us to become a competitive and better baseball team."
