KILGORE, Texas — The Blinn College women's basketball team (5-6, 0-2) dropped a road loss to Kilgore College, 77-50, on Wednesday night.
Kristine Ezimako led Blinn on offense and defense by recording a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Imani Wimbish-Gay followed on offense with 11 points, while Missy Archie followed on defense with 11 rebounds and scored six points.
Blinn opened the game strong by taking a 19-16 lead in the first quarter. However, the Buccaneers fell behind 31-24 at the half.
Kilgore held onto the momentum in the third quarter by scoring 27 points to take a 58-38 lead. Blinn came back to outscore Kilgore 22-19 in the final quarter before falling.
With the loss, the Buccaneers fall to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in Region XIV conference play.
Blinn will continue conference play on the road against No. 2 Trinity Valley Community College on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
