Blinn College women’s basketball drops game to Ranger, 74-59

BEEVILLE, Texas — The Blinn College women's basketball team (2-3) dropped its first game in the Coastal Bend Classic to Ranger College, 74-59, Friday. 

"I am extremely proud of our team's effort today," said Jeff Jenkins, Blinn head coach. "We struggled in the second and third quarters against a very good team, but kept positive body language and fought until the end."

Kristine Ezimako led Blinn's offense with 16 points, while Alexus Brigham scored 14 and Missy Archie recorded 12.

The game started close as Blinn and Ranger swapped points in the first quarter and were even 18-18 heading into the second quarter. However, Ranger managed to pull away in the second quarter 38-27 and keep the lead. 

Ranger outscored Blinn by one point in the third quarter to keep a 60-38 lead into the final quarter. The Buccaneers played their best quarter in the fourth as they outscored Ranger, 21-14.

Next, the Buccaneers will conclude the Coastal Bend Classic against Clarendon College on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
