Blinn's season ends after Galveston sweeps Region XIV South twin bill

The Blinn College baseball team's season came to an end with a Region XIV South doubleheader sweep at the hands of Galveston College on Saturday in Galveston, Texas.

The Whitecaps earned a 4-0 victory in game one and finished the sweep with a 2-0 victory.

The Buccaneers (14-34, 11-24 Region XIV South) needed a split of the twin bill to qualify for the Region XIV tournament.

In the opener, Gage Boehm worked a complete game for Blinn and allowed four earned runs on nine hits. He struck out eight and walked one.

Trevor Roper's single accounted for the Bucs' lone hit and baserunner.

Evan Aschenbeck gave Blinn a five-inning quality start in the finale in which he allowed two earned runs on five hits with seven strikeouts.

Blinn finished with five hits, including two from Luke Nail (including a double). Dave Wilson tripled for the Bucs. 

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
