Blinn men’s and women’s basketball teams head into the Region XIV Tournament

The Blinn College men's and women's basketball teams will compete in the NJCAA Region XIV Tournament April 6-10 in the John Alexander Gymnasium in Jacksonville, Texas.

The No. 23 women's basketball team enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed after concluding the regular season with a 17-5 overall record and 13-3 conference record. The men's basketball team enters the tournament as the No. 6 seed after finishing the regular season with a 10-10 overall record and 8-10 conference record.

The men's team will take the court first and take on the No. 11 seed Coastal Bend College on Tuesday, April 6, at 8 p.m. in the first round. The women's team will compete against the No. 6 seed Paris Junior College on Wednesday, April 7, at 8 p.m.

General admission per session is $5 and a tournament pass is $25.  A limited number of reserved tickets will be sold for $8 and must be purchased in groups of two or four. The top men's team and women's team from the tournament will advance to the NJCAA Division I Men's and Women's Basketball Championships in Hutchinson, Kan., and Lubbock, respectively.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 41 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
