Blinn women’s soccer falls to Angelina, 1-0

The Blinn College women's soccer team lost 1-0 to conference foe Angelina College on Saturday despite a sterling performance by goalkeeper Angel Chase.

Angelina scored in the opening five minutes, then held on to take the win in Lufkin. Chase had three saves and knocked away a penalty kick to keep the Bucs close.

Blinn, 2-3 on the season and in conference play, had won two straight games before Saturday's loss.

"We came out slow were caught by a quick goal from Angelina," assistant coach Alexandria Jackson said, "but the players battled until the end. We look forward to playing Angelina at our home pitch later this season."

Blinn travels to Jacksonville College on Wednesday for a 3 p.m. game.
