Top-seeded Blinn volleyball to open Region XIV Championships vs. Paris

The Blinn College volleyball team will open the 2015 NJCAA Region XIV Championships on Friday, Nov. 6, with a match against fourth-seeded Paris Junior College at 1 p.m. at Wagstaff Gymnasium in Tyler.

The Buccaneers finished with an 8-2 record in conference and earned the top seed in the South Zone by way of a tiebreaker. Blinn finished with a 25-9 overall record and has won the last two tournament championships. Paris finished the season with a 3-5 record in the North Zone.

Blinn is led by sophomore Abolanle Onipede in kills with 306 and hitting percentage at .438 with a minimum 100 attacks. Freshman Danusia Borgeaud leads the team with 357 digs.

Sophomore setter Jordyn Keamo, who was named the NJCAA Division I player of the week for Oct. 26 – Nov. 1, leads the Buccaneers with 1,180 total assists and 76 service aces.
